Hi there,
I’m a professional journalist currently reporting for CBC in Victoria, and can produce compelling stories for all formats, including print, radio, television, and online. I’m most interested in environmental, health and Indigenous reporting, alongside long-form human interest stories and profiles.
Recently, I have reported for The Globe and Mail, The Ottawa Citizen, CBC Radio Thunder Bay, and I also spent time making videos and radio at CBC Nova Scotia, in Halifax.
I grew up in the small town of Clearwater, British Columbia, and earned a B.A. in Communications with minors in Publishing and Political Science, from Simon Fraser University, in Burnaby. There, I worked as a Communications Coordinator for the school’s Media Democracy Project, did web-writing and graphic design work with the Tsleil-Waututh Nation’s Sacred Trust Initiative, and spent two years editing op-eds at the student newspaper The Peak.
I was also part of a fairly successful four-year podcast project, that you can learn more about here.
Aside from media-related things, I like cooking new recipes and hand-writing them in a notebook, Sunday morning bootcamp workouts, unique people, peaceful hikes in the fresh outdoors, all kinds of films, being bribed with coffee, and reliving my teen band-geek years by listening to classic jazz.
